Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

A website is only successful if it attracts viewers which, dependant on the website, then go on to become customers.

Alternative methods of discovering websites such as social bookmarking are becoming more popular but currently the main method of attracting visitors to any website is still via search engines such as google, yahoo and the newly-formed Bing. With increased competition from businesses in your sector, it is important that a website is optimised for the search engines to index including the correct use of xhtml tags and keyword rich text.

What do we mean by keyword rich text?

The text on your website should be concise yet at the same time, the keywords (the main words used to describe your product or service), should be present within the text. By this we mean that if you were, say describing holidays, then you should use words in your text like holiday, sun, beach, relaxation and hotel. The easiest way to select your words is to put yourself in your customers shoes and make a list of the words you would enter into a search engine to find a particular products or service.

Increasing your inbound links

Another method of raising the profile of your website is to increase the number and quality of links to your website. The higher the profile of the websites which link to yours the higher up the search engine rankings you will go. Naturally we will help you to create these links but you know your clients better than us so will ask for your assistance to provide the names of your clients, suppliers and sponsor companies most appropriate to your individual market.
