What a load of fonts!!!!

Web design and development

Designing and developing a website is much more than simply creating a design from a graphics package and translating that into a website. There are many factors which need to be considered such as the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), accessibility (WCAG 2), search engine optimisation (seo) and human/device factors. We take all these into account as a matter of course, to seamlessly deliver you a cost-effective solution.

Why are these factors important?

It is unlikely that all of the users that you attract to your website will be identical, both in terms of their computer, web browser and any personal disabilities that they have. Due to ensure non of these factors restrict use of your website we will ensure it is designed and built to cope with a variety of situations. This could range from a user who is in perfect health using a powerful computer; to a person who is blind operating their computer using a speech web browser; to a user accessing the website via their mobile phone.

How do we construct websites

We ensure that the websites we create are designed and built with web standards in mind. These standards are guidelines drawn up to not only ensure that there is a rigid structure and specification for both web documents and browsers, but also that any websites which adhere to them can be displayed on any device.

Our preference is to construct websites using xhtml and css using javascript to progressively enhance the appearance. This permutation ensures that the website remains operational to the viewer regardless of the device they use to access the internet or any disability that they may have.
